H.M.S conway used to be a cadet training school.
The actual ship I thought had burned after running aground in the menai straits some time in the fifties, after that the school became a camp until new premises were foundor built. It then continued as a dry ship until 1973 I think.I left in 72 at which time it was owned by Cheshire education and scheduled to close the year after, wether it actually closed in 73 or later I dont Know--I was just glad to leave at the time and never realy took any interest after that.
You want to know where it was?--Plas Newydd Llanfair.P.G Anglesey. There is a H.M.S conway fund some where to help young lads who fancy a life at sea, perhaps you could get more info from there--they do have a web site, alternatively maybe there are still records at the old school
