I run THE LANDER GALLERY, 29 Lemon Street, Truro, Cornwall, England, selling fine art. I have for sale the oil painting of HMS WHIRLWIND UNDER FIRE, by GEORGE FAGAN BRADSHAW, painted for Lt. Cmdr. OLLERHEAD RN in the 1930s.

: : She was an Admiralty W Class destroyer, built in 1917 by Swan Hunter. Later converted to a escort vesel she was sunk by the U-34 South West of Ireland on 5/7/1940, two officers and 57 ratings were killed.

: Try the Maritime Photo Library, 8, Jetty Street, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 9HF. They have two photos of the WHIRLWIND in their list of warships.

: Cheers Ron
