As a fresh faced new boy to open water diving cert, i was taught and instructed in bith DIR set-up and regular jacket style bc. Personally, i preffered DIR but was equally at home with the other. Now i've started to accumulate my own DIR rig i mentioned to a seasoned dive friend of mine if we could go diving. The answer, minus the swearing, was no and that the majority of the british dive community would not entertain/buddy a DIR diver. Why is this or is he talking out of his A! I am a relativly new diver and need to get wet soonest, am i barking up the wrong tree or are we all in this sport for the same thing......DIVING.
