> Condensation in Housing - Olympus u400

I have bought an Olympus u400 and housing as my first attempt at underwater photography. Each time I have used the camera I have noticed an what I would consider an excessive amount of condensation inside the housing. Soetimes its so bad that I can't see the LCD through the back window. Each time I've used the camera it's been in cold water (Scotland / North Sea)

Is this normal?
Can it be stopped / reduced?

Also how well does a strobe reduce / stop backsplatter?
