Could someone enlighten me as to just why underwater housing are so very expensive. By this i mean - i have a canon 10D; A subal housing in the UK is over £2000 not including strobes etc., thats almost twice the price of the camera.
Now i know that are not mass produced items, but come on, these prices are just silly especially when considering that the 10D will be obsolete in a few years!!!

Are there any reasonably priced housings out there (that does not involve a bag) that are closer to or less than the 10D body?
