I was borne at Miller Howe, Windermere in 1943, and was told that I saw, and have a VERY vague memory, of an aircraft crashing in the lake. I was told much later it was a Messerschmitt 110 from Norway which was trying to attack the Sunderland factory on the lakeshore,and which was shot down by an AA gun on the top of Wray castle.
