Hi simon good to hear your getting wet i would gladly join you but I have to go up to conniston my daughter needs something from there for her uni project but at leest we will get a dive in as for razer hes just a armchair diver never got wet just reads about dives in the mags any decent diver will user the lesser demanding dives to keep dive fit and skills up to date.

Razer ypur a very sad boring person you asked a ? about why diving keep going to stoney they answer your ? then you try to belittle them then complain and brag about the dives you may or may not have done i personaly don,t give a fig how deep or not you have been when your doing realy deep dive you don.t need to brag if you don't like the the diving other do then just leave them to it I personaly don't dive stony ido train for deer diver any ccr diver will tel you its constant training to keep up motorskill badly learnt or not praticed skill are the firts to go (worst case followed by death) if you are a genuin exp diver pass on your skill don't try to belittle other as I have said before I don't need to justifi or brag about my diving but i do help out other that ask for help so letts put this to rest and just get on with diving or usefull dicusions

Shit Im glad to say my diving skills are better than my keyboard skills (still defrosting from diving coniston this morning) testing out new equipment for the next season and helping out a fellow diver

paul if i could read what you said i may find it funny

no one asked you to join in this topic so if you don't like what i say dont get involved hey !!!

i take deep diving very serious as most of my diving now is below 40m

the question i asked at the start was why do divers keep going to same quarry week after week after week

we here in uk have plenty of quarries to dive in and we are an island so there is always the coast HEY!!!!!!!
if you are student diver learning then thats great even i had to learn and i too went to stoney and other quarries more than once but when you get too padi rescue dm msdt or higher then why keep going to same boring site over and over

i hope this explains it to you a bit

but if it makes you feel better when reading your log book and you see same quarry logged same dive logged again again then that your loss

Exactly which PADI cert card allows you to dive deeper than 40M ?
Just wondering, since you seem to be so critical of everyone else.

gramham why hello to you

what have cert cards got to do with anything
the question asked was why do divers who are let say padi rescue or above with lets say 150 dives or more keep going to same dive site over and over again
ie stoney

i guess by your statment your one of the above and has your own little space on carpark at 4am weekends
let me guess your loogbook reads dived stoney stoney stoney stoney stoney stoney stoney stoney stoney

i only said 40m as most of my diving is below that now
but that was not the question how deep you go now was it

I've been to Stoney once in 8 years, but hey who cares....I go to Dorothea on a regular basis and can live with that. Bottom line is I really don't care what you think, was just posting for a reaction. Which obviously I got. Shame you seem so defensive.... Would be interested to see you dive to see if you could back that ego up.

You ever up my neck of the woods (northwest) and you fancy a dip somewhere deep let me know.

why graham
thankyou for that kind offer i go to dotty a few times over the year so may take you up on offer

most of my diving at present is uk saltwater only do fresh at last option

just one question i have if you really don't care what i think, and you was just posting for a reaction

have you nothing better to do in life than to come on here and have a pop at me

and i can defo back up my diving just to answer your other question

rgds razor and my ego says hello aswell

Your right I was bored, and had nothing better to do... how sad is that ! you on the other hand appear to take pleasure in this kind of thing. Well knock yourself out.

oh and don't flatter yourself, I'd rather dive alone.

razor I think you've made your point, in this and the other topics you are posting in, which may have some relevance as to variety of dives experienced to gain qualifications etc. However as most people have rightly said it is becoming more and more financially restricting to dive anywhere other than local quarries etc on a regular basis, most people just want to continue diving and ensure their skills are up to date. My personal circumstances are that I did a PADI Open Water course on holiday last year, but when I came home decided to join a local BSAC club and have spent the last 12 months diving mainly in Dosthill, with a few trips to Chepstow, Plymouth, Weymouth, and Vobster, oh and not forgetting the Dominican Republic this year to 36m, but the majority of my dives in Dosthill. I am quite happy diving in Dosthill because I feel it is a safe environment in which to learn. I am now continuing with Sports Diver training and will be spending even more time in Dosthill, and when my depth progression dives come along I will probably go to Stoney. My point is surely the reason behind people going to Stoney is that they want to dive at the most convenient place, not everyone can afford to travel the UK looking for good dive sites due to various reasons, so please give everyone a break and save your crusade for somewhere where people like yourself are looking for buddies.
